Horrible cust service using covid pandemic so they don’t have to help their cust

waiting on hold only to be dis connected not one day but two over an hour wait . blaming this delay on the pandemic cant get thru to anyone .

Worst, most irritating bank I've ever dealt with

I am attempting to send money through zelle after numerous attempts and 30 min hold I'm told that I have to come in. During a pandamic. Risking my health as well as my partner who has pre-existing conditions. I am disgusted with this bank

Heidi Weatherly is a nasty human

I have been trying to talk to a manager in the Whitestone location for the pass few days, and they are never around finally I spoke to Heidi Weatherly and I try to tell her the problem that I have in my account she cut me off and said that she does not need me to explain anything to her that she knows what she is doing with a nasty attitude how can she continue to work for the bank when I see there are complaints from costumer because how nasty she is she cuts you off when I told her can you please listen she told me she does not have to listen to me nasty

The worst stay far away

They keep locking me out of my account when I try and log in online I never had this problem when I had Astoria When I complain they say hmm we are sorry then it happens again the following week Im now in the process of moving my accounts to Another Bank

Poor customer service

The bank used my monthly Sterling National Bank mortgage, to pay the principle of the statement. Then charge fees and penalties for not paying the monthly payment. Tried multiple occassions to call the 1-85*-857-****. To straighten out the problem. I was unable to talk to person and left multiple messages. Went to the Monroe, NY branch, the client services representative stated "she could only help with checking and savings, you have to call the number stated above". The bank is not customer friendly and does not care for their customers.

I was there to deposit a check and I was very very disappointed with the customer service. First of all there was only one teller at the window. The man who was standing behind me started to complain loud and the banker ( I don't know her name) who was at the desk took him to the teller and he was taken care of first. The second customer who came later than me went to the teller named Keisha Randall and quietly said something to her then he was taken care of first too. The teller named Keisha Randall was treating me like a garbage. When she called me to her window I asked her why she took them first. She said, " It is none of your business." She also said, "There is a reason why they were taken care of first." What reason???? I have never experienced this kind of treatment at the bank in my life. She was very very unprofessional. Never going back and I am thinking of closing my account.

Don't know what they are doing

I have both a joint and individual account with Brio Bank the on- line bank under Sterling National Bank. I deposited a check on- line to the individual account and the money was debited from our joint account. I have been fighting to have the money posted back to the joint account since the money should not have been debited, but should have been deposited into the individual account that is totally different account number. The amount was over $3000 and i am still waiting for answers. I have submitted a complaint with the NYS banking and awaiting for the outcome. STAY AWAY from this bank even though the bank yield is higher then most on line banks.

Terrible customer service and app

After banking with Astoria for the last 20+ years, I had no choice but to stay with Sterling since they hold my mortgage and all of our accounts. The app is awful, I am locked out every other month and spend 30+ minutes on the phone to get fixed. My new debit card was activated, and now I can’t use it at the ATM, so I just spent 28 minutes on hold, got a rep to verify who I am and then she transferred me to Card services. I could barely hear that rep and then she transferred me back to Customer Service, where I would’ve been on hold for another half hour. So I hung up. I will keep my mortgage there, but I plan to close all of my other accounts, which have significant balances in them. They’re awful.

Lies and a waste of time

Went to Sterling for a personal loan. Was told no problem based on credit score and salary (130K a year) I had 12K in credit card debt which I wanted to consolidate . Suggested Sterling cut checks directly to Credit card agencies . Get a letter of denial stating high credit card balances ! Well the reason for the loan *** !I also get a hard hit on my credit as well. Over the past two months, I have paid 9 of the 12K . Credit is now over 700 and all the cards haven't reach credit reporting agency . So what a waste of time even after the Manager called the underwriters, they just kept saying no, no no. Sterling also missed a good opportunity to make money. Im withdrawing as well as my family members and telling friends too. My family dates back to the Suffern Saving and Loan branches which are now under sterling. Waste of my time and a hit on my credit .
